Monitoring equipment and associated field infrastructure removed safely, without damage to the instrument or to the structure it was mounted on.
Condition & identity recorded
Equipment identified — make, model and serial or asset reference where available — with its condition recorded at the point of removal.
Full recovery
Cabinets, batteries, solar panels, antennas, poles, brackets, mounts, cabling and accessories recovered along with the instrument, where applicable.
Site left tidy and safe
Fixings dealt with appropriately, waste and packaging removed, and the location left in a safe, tidy state for the site team.
Prepared for onward handling
Equipment packed and prepared for return, storage, servicing or reissue as the appointing organisation instructs.
Completion record
Photographs, geolocation and a written completion record closing out the field side of the project.
Why it matters

End-of-project field work is where equipment quietly goes missing, comes back damaged with no explanation, or gets left behind because nobody was tasked with collecting it. Decommissioning is treated here as a deliverable in its own right.
